Turkmenistan Future Energy Security Guarantor in Central Asia and Afghanistan?

Deputy Director for Academic and Research Affairs Dr. Farkhod Aminjonov participated and presented a paper on “Turkmenistan Future Energy Security Guarantor in Central Asia and Afghanistan?” at the international conference on “25 Years of Independence: Energy Security Issues in Central Asia and Beyond,” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the support of the Office of the NATO Liaison Officer in Central Asia, the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ashgabat, and the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies, December 14–15, 2016, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The conference brought together regional experts from Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan to exchange opinions and experience on common security and stability challenges in Central and South Asia. The event provided a platform for experts to identify areas which could benefit from closer Central and South Asian cooperation and support in view of regional stability and prosperity.
